So, were you wondering what happened to me?
It has been SO long since I’ve posted anything, that I almost forgot how to log into my blog! Ahhhh!
It feels good to be back.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know that I moved. We’ve been searching for houses for the past year and when my husband became an elementary principal in my hometown, we knew right away that it was time to make the move back to the little town I grew up in. There is SOOOO much to that story (and I think it’s a really good one) that I would really love to devote a whole post to our job searching “adventure” and how faith, a little luck, and perseverance brought us to where we are today. So, stay tuned…the whole story is coming soon!
In addition to moving, I also made the decision to EXPAND Schoolgirl Style. We have now moved into a huge, new facility and I’m in the process of ordering all sorts of goodies for 2015! Life has been C.R.A.Z.Y., but seriously, that’s nothing new in my life! Ha!
Despite all of the activity going on, I’m STILL working! The ideas are still flowing and I’m still creating. I absolutely love what I do and it’s so hard to turn it off – even during this HUGE move!
So, this summer, while we were shipping your products, packing, AND moving…we were also coming up with new and super fun ideas for your classroom! If you’ve peeked at my Schoolgirl Style Shop, you’ve probably noticed the section called “Color My Classroom.” We’ve created adorable black line art to coordinate with some of our most popular classroom collections. We have owls, fish, bugs, birds, and several other products to enhance your classroom decor.
Here is an example…
After several emails from people asking for holiday decor, I decided that it would be a great idea to create black line art for every classroom celebration!
Sooooo….
I am super excited to introduce our Schoolgirl Style Autumn Decor!
I’ve created apples, pumpkins, pilgrims, bats, monsters, turkeys…basically, every “thing” that is associated with a particular month/holiday!
WHY?
As a teacher, I wanted to celebrate the holidays with my students, but found very little time to do this. I always felt the pressures of testing and curriculum. I almost felt guilty if I took the time to do a holiday craft…it’s sad, but it’s a true story. I know my colleagues felt the same way. I also wanted to decorate my classroom for each holiday, but I could never find the time OR had the money to do it.
People have asked me to create holiday decor and I really would love to, however, this is reality. You are busy. You need something quick and easy AND it needs to be cheap! I put myself in your shoes and decided to create the easiest holiday decor EVER!
Black line art.
It can’t get any easier.
WHAT?
What can you do with black line art? You can create bulletin boards, decorate classroom doors, use as party decor, make holiday banners, include with your writing prompts, create seasonal puppets, read-around-the-room pointers, game pieces, and simple craft projects.
The best thing about black line art is that you can print it out as many times as you would like and it’s easy to photocopy!
This is the MOST budget friendly decor that you can find!
Here are a couple more examples from my September and November “Color My Classroom” collections…
September Cutouts
October Cutouts
You can purchase each monthly collection for only $5, however, if you purchase all three in our Autumn Bundle, it only costs $10!

I hope my little creations can help bring some excitement to your classroom celebrations! Enjoy!
