I love revealing a little personal information here and there on my blog.  Today, is a special day in my life…my anniversary!  I am married to the most wonderful man in the entire world!

I am not sure if any of you know this, but my husband, Matt, and I work together.  We met five years ago at school.  Five years ago, I was transferred unexpectedly to a brand new elementary building in our district.  It was such an exciting time – several teachers were transferred to this new school, as well as brand new teachers were hired at this particular building.  My husband was one of the brand new teachers.  That first year, my husband and I developed a friendship and I thought he was the best teacher that I have ever seen.  I was in awe of his enthusiasm, his professionalism, his work ethic, but most importantly his repertoire with the students.  The children adored him and respected him.   After a year long friendship, we ended up getting married.  It was the BEST decision I have ever made in my life.  Some of you would probably dislike working with your spouse, but I LOVE it.  I don’t see him during the day that often, but it is so comforting to know that he is there.

Our life is consumed of school.  We are very passionate about educational issues.  We both have Education Specialist degrees in School Administration and we care deeply about school issues and reform, the future of education, and the children that we teacher.

When we aren’t at school or talking about school, we are taking care of our children.  Matt is such an amazing father.  His family is his biggest priority in his life and we can all feel the love he has for us.  He sacrifices so much for all of us and we always come first.  Being home and having us all together is our favorite place to be.

I often reflect on that transfer five years ago and how it brought us together unexpectedly.  Nothing would have prepared me for what was in store for my life.  I met the man of my dreams, my best friend and the love of my life.  Life couldn’t be any better!
