Are you ready for some cute classroom inspiration? Meet Katie Brockmeyer, she is a 4th grade teacher in Missouri. Katie actually lives in Arkansas, but travels across states lines everyday to teach at Westview Elementary. Westview is a K-8 elementary school with only one class per grade level. This is the BEST part…she only has 12 students! Can you even imagine?!? Sounds like a dream job if you ask me! Katie sent me to her personal blog to take a look at her classroom photos and I couldn’t help but peek at the different categories on her site to learn more about her! I had the pleasure of viewing her wedding photos…
I hope she doesn’t kill me, but I HAD to share her wedding photos! I absolutely LOVE her dress and cowboy boots! Look at that gorgeous barn?!? What a cool back drop for a wedding!
Aren’t they cute?!?!
Okay, back to Katie’s classroom…
Katie was hired November 1st and had to take over the classroom immediately! She didn’t have much time to get her classroom ready. When she walked in this is what she saw…
Ummmm…a little boring, right?
In a short period of time, she transformed her room into this…
Here is Katie’s Café’board. Do you notice the border? One of my absolute favs…Dots on Turquoise from Creative Teaching Press! Remember, I used this border in my Carnival themed classroom?
More Dots on Turquoise and the Stripes and Stitches border from Creative Teaching Press!
Katie’s calendar… she used more Dots on Turquoise, paisleys, and Dots on Turquoise Library Pockets. So adorable!
Katie’s “I PICK chart” and the Playful Paisley border and more paisleys from Creative Teaching Press!
Katie’s incentive system…
Pencils…
Katie’s caddy with Creative Teaching Press’ Dots on Turquoise Chart Cards. I am loving the Schoolgirl Style inspired caddy with the table number and pretty ribbon!
Look at those gorgeous hardwood floors! I also noticed the beadboard on the walls – LOVE! I could move into this classroom and be very, very happy!
Well, what did you think? It looks a hundred times better than when she moved in, right?!? I bet her students were excited to get a new teacher that is so excited to teach! I also bet they love their new, cute classroom!
Great job, Katie!
