Modern Apple: Black + Red Classroom Theme

This is another hugely requested color combo, but you’ll never guess what I did???  I added GRAY!!!  I’m sure that doesn’t surprise you by now. :)  I’m calling this “Modern Apple,” mainly because I love a classic red apple theme, however, instead of your traditional red + green, I thought it would be absolutely stunning with black, white, and touches of gray!

Check out my apple…a GRAY leaf!  I love that it’s such a little unexpected touch…I bet you thought an apple couldn’t be chic… well, it IS now!  Again, I’ve included trendy patterns, including a whimsical polka dot (which happens to be my favorite)!  The patterns have a vintage look…you see that everywhere in the decorating world!

Behind the Scenes:  Do I appear to be calm, cool, and collected during this BIG reveal?  I really hope so, but do you want to know the truth?  We are working like crazy behind the scenes to make sure all of this runs smoothly.  Just envision Santa on Christmas Eve and all of his elves running around…that’s how I’m feeling right now!!! :)  We are literally running around transferring files, zipping them, editing them, preparing pictures, filling the shop, and I’m writing this post two hours before it’s scheduled to go LIVE!  It’s a CRAZY, but super exciting time here at Schoolgirl Style!  I HOPE you are enjoying this as much as I am!

This argyle pattern is so pretty!  I loved how this appears so cohesive by choosing the same pattern to wrap my aluminum cans.

I forgot to mention that I created this entire collection WITHOUT the apple, just in case you wanted a super sophisticated look!

The poms are beautiful as an accent on your bulletin board.  I particularly love the black and white polka dot pom!

Red paired with black and white creates such a dramatic contrast!  I adore this modern take on a classic school theme.

Guess what else coordinates with this set?

OwlsAndApples2

Use this adorable owl with this collection as an accent!  If it were me, I would choose either the owls OR the apples, I probably wouldn’t combine the two.  It’s YOUR classroom though…you can do whatever makes you HAPPY! :)

I just love this!! I know Jackson’s birthday is a few months away, but I am always thinking about a theme for his party! Your apple theme was one of my first picks!! What do you think about this? “The Apple of our eye is turning ONE”!!

Love it! I have been looking for a ladybug-ish theme and this is the closest I have found.

Debbie, I also have brand new ladybug cutouts that would work perfectly with this. Actually, I should have showed it with this theme and it would look PERFECT with this!! If you go to my shop, click on my ladybug theme and you will find it there. :)

You took the word right out of my mouth, “chic” is EXACTLY what I was thinking as I saw this theme. Very sophisticated teacher. :)

I love this classic look. The colors are stunning. I bet it would look amazing in a classroom.

  6. Diana says

My fave so far! I just love this! My style is classic with a feminine twist, and this suits me perfectly! I am crazy about the more “sophisticated” apple and the colors are outstanding (and it all flows with our school’s red plaid uniforms…) I think I may just have to do this one. Plus, I think it will look great mixed in with Chalkboard Couture!
